Konnichiwa! Hajimemashite! BondEEEs traveling dress goes to Japan!
Sunday, November 23, 2014
This was the second time I wore the traveling dress in Japan. And I must say, something quite exciting always happens whenever I wear this dress. The first one was when I took a special Nihongo class with other global recruits in our company. The class was done by group and each group gets to sit in a round table arrangement. I was lucky enough to be groupmates with my crush and sit face to face with him. But since I didn't get to take any pictures that time and the topic's just too highschool, I won't be talking about it here. Haha.
Anyways, here it is..
March 23, 2014
I love Sundays. I always get this happy, sunny feeling during Sundays. Sundays allow me to catch up with God during mass and with Filipino friends over good food. I think for most Filipinos, finding a church in a foreign country (especially in a non-Christian one) is like finding their niche. Inside the church, it always feels like I never left home, I always feel a sense of belonging and my heart is at peace. And since God gave me a chance to continue church service in Japan, going to church feels more of a calling than a simple Sunday routine.
Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in Yotsuya
At that time, I did the second reading and also played a role in the gospel reading at Saint Ignatius Church. I was really nervous because it was a really big church, with the majority being non-Filipino foreigners. Douglas, the lectors' leader, was not as friendly as I expected. He reminds me of my speech teacher back in HS, the type who wants every word pronounced articulately...which made me more nervous. But with the Holy Spirit's guidance, it turned out pretty well. After mass, I even got weird but flattering comments like I must have been raised in the states or I must have a very nice singing voice. (Neither is true btw)
I played the role of a Samaritan woman in the reading. (It's in John 4:5-42 if you're curious.) This bible story is actually quite famous...about a woman who saw Jesus, discovered who He is and was changed forever. It was then that I realized, God also speaks to me through mass service.
Shinjuku Station East Exit
At a random place outside Shinjuku Station
My friend Cherry and I then headed to Shinjuku station after lunch.
We had just tapped our card on the ticket gate when I saw a guy who looks a lot like the husband of a common friend..but with another girl. They were clearly a couple, very sweet and HHWW. Although I only met this guy once, I remembered his face quite well because he's pogi (lol). I even showed Cherry a picture of this guy from our friend's facebook and we both agreed it's the same person. Our "girls ought to look our for each other" instincts just took over us and we decided to follow the two. We followed them until the elevator, which unfortunately we failed to ride in because it was already full. But we got a chance to look at him face to face for a few seconds before the door closed. I remember him looking at me that time, but without any expression or any trace of recognition on his face. We tried to let go of the matter but it really bothered us so much that it was all we talked about during lunch.
While waiting in line at a restaurant in Lumine Shinjuku Station
Trying not to look stressed
I ate this corned beef sandwich and my favorite cheesecake flavored ice cream from Coldstone but I didn't enjoy them at all since we were busy asking for advice from friends and thinking of the right thing to do.
Since we forgot to take any picture as evidence and also considering that I only met this guy once, we have agreed that if we have really mistaken him for the wrong person, we would just stir up unnecessary doubts and distrust between a married couple. The consequences are too big so we decided to keep our mouths shut and stay out of it.
After lunch, we decided to drop by H&M for some window shopping, and yeah...we totally forgot the incidence after.
What a day. I wonder what's gonna happen next Sunday.

about the travelling dress
BondEEE's travelling dress materialized on September 30, 2012 when April, Nina and Ish visited Forever 21 in SM North Edsa The Block. With the approval of the president, Hazel, this delicate piece of clothing became the group's connection to one another. It was a perfect fit to everyone!
This dress shall travel miles as April, Hazel, Ish and Nina go to exciting places! All the emotions and picturesque scenery shall be stitched on the travelling dress through this blog.
